West Seattle Bridge Now is a coalition of more than 4,000 concerned citizens that have come together  in response to the closure of the West Seattle Bridge.  We advocate for immediate solutions to the bridge closure and share information to keep the community informed. Our goal is to ensure that the voices of our community are heard, and government agencies and elected officials are responsive to our needs and concerns. West Seattle Bridge Now is organized and run by volunteers and we are not affiliated with any outside organization.

We support the growing consensus amongst engineering experts that the bridge can be repaired safely and cost effectively within 1-2 years, and this repair can keep traffic moving on the bridge for 15-40 years. Our community simply cannot afford to wait for the lengthy and costly process for replacing the bridge. Designing, permitting and securing funding for a new bridge will take multiple years. In that time livelihoods will be lost, lives will be disrupted and communities will be choked with traffic and pollution.

We welcome everyone to join us in calling for an urgent solution to restore this vital transportation corridor. We urge Mayor Jenny Durkan, the Seattle City Council and the Seattle Department of Transportation to move ahead as quickly as possible to repair the bridge and get our community moving again.
